Downtown Pet Hospital

A friend of mine Shawn at All American Pest Control told me about this pet hospital

Downtown Pet Hospital opened in March 2005!!! This hospital is built on the location of the first veterinary clinic in Orlando, which was established in 1937. The practice, originally opened by Dr. W.M. Lynn in 1926 out of his home, was continued by his nephew Dr. D. Lynn at its present location. Initially, Dr. Lynn serviced both small and large animals, with horses and cows being brought up to his door! Please come by our clinic to see this progression in pictures!

Our Facilities

Our Facilities - Examination Room | Downtown Pet Hospital

Downtown Pet Hospital’s new veterinarian clinic is state of the art, with 3 examination rooms, in-house CBC and chemistry machine, laser surgery center, therapy laser, digital radiography, dental machine, a stocked pharmacy, as well as boarding facilities.

They have a functional treatment area, where they can monitor intensive care patients and post-operative patients, as well as performing needed treatments. Surgeries & treatments offered include dental prophylaxis, spaying & neutering, laser declawing, fluid therapy, blood transfusions, as well as other soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. They also have a digital radiography machine, which enables high quality x-rays rapidly.

Our CO2 Laser enables more efficient and less painful surgeries! They also provide the newest standards of therapy regarding pain medication before and after surgical procedures. Finally, our in-house blood work machine enables rapid diagnosis of problems, as well as evaluation of organ function prior to anesthesia for surgery.

They also have a new Class IV Therapy Light Laser, which is the latest veterinary technology in healthcare for your pet. This is an FDA cleared, deep penetrating light laser for the relief of pain. It is helpful for the following conditions as well as many more: arthritis, hip dysplasia, skin conditions, and wound healing.

Because your pet is an important member of your family, they encourage routine physical examinations and preventative health care to keep your pet in the best condition possible. This is achieved with state-of-the-art veterinary and surgical services that provide the best possible care for your pet.

They recommend bringing your pet in for a wellness check-up once a year. This will include a full physical examination and an evaluation of vaccination requirements/recommendations, as well as discussing bloodwork as s/he begins to age. Our pet doctors will check your pet from head to tail, and will make any recommendations they believe that would augment your four-legged family member´s health.

Please feel free to bring in any medical history you have when you come to visit our hospital. It is best to keep a journal of your pet’s health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts and any medical disorders.

In some circumstances, our veterinarians will refer your pet to a specialist, who has advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or surgery. They are pleased to offer internal medicine and ultrasound consults in hospital, as well as some surgical procedures performed by a traveling veterinary surgeon. They also have a relationship with the local specialty hospital in Maitland, if the immediate need arises.
