Dr. Sara H. Core is the founder and hospital director of Ridgemont Animal Clinic. She is a 1977 magna cum laude graduate of Texas A & M University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Core has practiced in Abilene during all of her career. Dr. Core founded Ridgemont Animal Clinic in 1979. Since then, it has outgrown two locations, and is now in a large, state-of-the-art facility.
Dr. Core especially enjoys dentistry for pets, and challenging internal medicine cases. Dr. Core has taken special advanced training in the field of veterinary dentistry, in order to help the dogs and cats of west Texas enjoy healthy teeth all of their lives!
Another growing area of interest for Dr. Core is oncology, or cancer treatment. ALL cancer patients can be helped in some way to live a better, more comfortable life. Dr. Core is continually receiving education in this new field. From diagnosis to surgery, chemotherapy, or pain management, Dr. Core believes that all pets should receive humane cancer treatment. Even if the cancer cannot be cured, often times the patient's symptoms can be relieved, giving them quality of life.
Dr. Core belongs to the American and Texas Veterinary Associations. She is also a member of the American Veterinary Dental Society.
